Staples High boys hoops program hosting youth clinic

The Staples High boys basketball team will host the 17th annual MLK basketball clinic on Jan. 21 at Staples High School. The session will run from 9 to 11 a.m., with sign-ups and warm-ups to take place from 8:30 to 9 a.m. The cost is $35 per child and $60 for two brothers.

The clinic is open to all boys in grades 2 through 8 who are interested in developing their basketball skills with Staples’ junior varsity and varsity boys basketball players. Participants in grades 2 through 5 will be taught in the school’s field house, while those in grades 6 through 8 will be taught in the school’s gym.

Participants will be grouped by skill level to ensure personalized attention. Basketballs will be provided, but it is recommended that participants bring a water bottle. Everyone will receive a Staples basketball T-shirt and a complementary season pass for all Staples home games.
