City of Danbury Implements Free Electronic Rcycling.

Tired of that old computer or TV hanging around your house?

The City of Danbury is starting a new free service to allow our residents to dispose of those hard to get rid of e- waste items.

The kick-off is tomorrow. We will be in the parking lot of the Danbury Fair Mall where you can drop off your old electronic device free of charge.

After tomorrow, you can bring your e-waste to the Transfer Station located at 307 White Street in Danbury Connecticut.

The hours of operation for e-waste drop off will be:

Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Remember, Refridgerators, Ovens, Dishwashers are not considered “e-waste”.

So, get cleaning!

Stay Cool..

Just a quick update. The heat continues to boil, make sure that you stay indoors as much as possible. We have set up “cooling centers” at Veterans Hall in Rogers Park and Hatters Park. If tomorrow is like today, we will open again.

It’s All About The Jobs..

While today’s jobs report is not the best news for the country, we have had a spat of good news for the Danbury labor market.

Dick’s Sporting Goods and 21– an upscale clothing store isĀ  moving into the old Filenes space at the Danbury Fair Mall. PC Richards and Son is now open in the old Circuit City space on Federal Rd. LA Weight Loss will be opening in the old Linens and Things store on Federal Rd. and we just received plans for a new discount shoe store for the old Lillian August store on Mill Plain Rd. Let’s not forget that Pepe’s Pizza will be coming to Danbury and of course,Papa John’s Pizza just opened on Main Street.

We also are awaiting a major expansion of Danbury Hospital, and shortly we should have some good economic news for the city regarding the westside development.

All of this is good news for Danbury.

and better news for our residents..
