We’re up and running here at “The Double Bonus,” one of the newest blogs to join the Hearst Connecticut Media Group’s family.
And first and foremost, I have to say that I’m honored and excited to be on board. I’m looking forward to giving plenty of analysis and opinion on college basketball, commenting and covering the biggest stories and games leading up to the greatest postseason tournament in American sports: The NCAA Tournament.
We’ve got a long ways to go before we get to March and Selection Sunday and while some are calling this the most boring college basketball season we’ve had in recent memory, in reality it’s anything but. The game may not be full of household names these days and parity is certainly rampant in nearly every conference in the country, but it’s still the most passionate and dramatic brand of basketball you’ll find out there.
So keep checking in regularly. We’re going to touch on it all. From freshman sensation John Wall, to the WCC, Big East and CAA, to the bigger than life coaching personalities, surprises and disappointments to the absurd idea that the Tournament needs to expand to 96 teams.
It’s not going to be boring. I promise. Because boring and basketball never jell at the college level.
