In the third quarter, New Canaan maintained its lead with Maura Mullaney, Shorten, Cartensen, Marcus and Tedford playing hard. The tough defense paid off in the fourth quarter, as New Canaan took off and made a significant offensive charge.
Kendall Patten set up Bisceglia for the start of the run, and Bisceglia and Cartensen made key baskets down the stretch.
