The Red Storm picked up a 35-24 victory over the Fighting Irish in an up-tempo third grade YMCA boys basketball game on Saturday.
The Red Storm showed a balanced attack on offense, with Zach Boehly scoring 10 points, Ethan Passanante scoring eight points, Joe Cesare scoring eight points, Bradley Trager scoring four points, Ethan Gupta scoring three points and Alex Vogt rounding out the scoring with two points.
The Red Storm’s Will Major, Max Knight, Yousef Ashrifeh and Scott Dansker chipped in with solid defense and rebounding throughout the game. The Red Storm erased the Fighting Irish’s early lead to come away with the victory.
The Fighting Irish’s Miles Drake scored a game-high 14 points. Drake benefited from several assists from Jack Walsh and Charlie Oliver. Hogan Riccio chipped in with six points and Gerard Roarty notched two points.
James Leone and Lachlan McLaren dominated the boards for the Fighting Irish, grabbing seven rebounds apiece. Jack Wilber played a strong defensive game for the Fighting Irish.
