With just four players to play the entire game, the Tigers beat the loaded Wolfpack 16-12 on Saturday at the Town Hall gymnasium.
The Wolfpack sported the talent of Megan Cunningham, Arushi Samal, Kelly McKay, Anna Fox, Olivia Yoo, Abby Comella and Lily Rennie. But the Tigers’ quartet of Catherine Garrett, Elena DeGennaro, Alyssa Farrell and Chloe Sheehan picked up the win.
DeGennaro scored the first basket of the game, followed by a second by Garrett. The third and fourth baskets for the Tigers were scored by DeGennaro and Farrell brought the Tigers’ point total to eight at the end of the third quarter. The Tigers still trailed by four points due to the six baskets scored by the Wolfpack’s Cunningham, Fox, Yoo, Samal and Rennie.
Tough defense played by Sheehan forced several turnovers. The Tigers scored eight more points in the fourth quarter, including six by Garrett and another two by Farrell to complete the comeback.
