Isaac McMullin caught fire early and stayed hot throughout the contest, scoring 26 points and pacing the Huskies to a 45-28 victory over the Pirates in Darien third grade YMCA basketball.
Charlie Yurman and Andrew Kelly kept the Pirates in the game with their shooting, and Jake Faulkner provided some key baskets for the Pirates as well.
Louie Gorman and Hudson Hearle connected often for the Huskies with help from Jake Vairo and Ryan Jones. Mark Streeter, Jack Yurman and Carter Hayes made solid contributions to the Pirates’ attack, which was also aided by the play of Brandon Liu and Colin Bresnahan.
Will San Jose’s instinctive hustle to tip rebounds combined with Evan Smith and Jed Morgan’s enthusiastic play helped the Huskies keep their momentum during all four quarters.
