By dominating the second half, the Sooners scored a 23-11 victory over the Cowboys in Darien fifth grade boys basketball on Saturday at Darien High School.
The Cowboys led 9-8 at halftime, as Jackson Morgan scored five points and Mark Trifone and Aiden Maniscalo scored two points apiece.
However, Brendan Corcoran, Jacob Grimm and Ethan Haas got the Sooner offense rolling in the second half for the runaway victory.
Grimm led all scorers with 11 points, Corcoran added 6 points (all in the second half) and Hass chipped in his four second-half points. Patsindrick Paul (two points), Carter George and the Sooners tightened up their defensive effort in the second half, holding the Cowboys to Robert McMullan’s fourth quarter basket.
