The Fairfield Stags added another offensive option for the 2014 season with 6-foot-2 guard Tyler Nelson verbally committing to the program on Monday.
Nelson, from Central Catholic in Boston, averaged 17.2 points per game last season while guiding the Red Raiders to the Division 1 North championship.
“I really liked the campus,” Nelson told the Boston Herald. “I met the coaches and really liked them. I think I can go there and have a chance to play as a freshman. I also liked the academics, I’m looking at business and a few other things (to major in).”
Last week Sydney Johnson added 6-8 Kevin Degnan to the 2014 class, beating out Iona, Rhode Island, Fordham, Duquesne and James Madison for the forward from Pearl River in Rockland, N.Y.
