The University of Bridgeport women’s soccer team was selected No. 12 in the preseason NCAA Division II Poll, which was released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
The Purple Knights, who finished the 2011 campaign with a 16-0-2 overall record, were ranked number one in the country for six weeks last season and finished the year No. 13 in the final NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA D-II Poll.
UB, which is coached by Magnus Nilerud, opens the season on Aug, at UMass-Lowell.
