New life is returning to the site of a well-known Milford retailer that closed a few years back.
ALDI markets, a “no-frills” supermarket chain that now has more than 1,000 stores in 29 states, opens its second store in the region tomorrow on the Boston Post Road property once occupied by Gloria’s. Earlier this year, ALDI opened an outlet in West Haven.
The market chain describes a “less-is-more approach” as the “foundation” to its philosophy of grocery retailing. “Everything we do, from selecting suppliers to scouting locations to building and operating stores, facilitates savings substantial enough to impact your every-day living,” according to the store’s website.
Starting tomorrow at 9 a.m., you can see how well the reality measures up against the philosophy.
And, in the meantime, more on this addition to Milford’s commercial community on connpost.com later today and in the Connecticut Post tomorrow.

I wood to work for you
