Robert Kennedy Jr., the son of the slain New York Senator and Attorney General, and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, was driving on the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx recently, being interviewed over the phone by a Connecticut Post reporter, when his cell phone suddenly went silent.
He called back a few minutes later to say, apologetically, that he had run out of gas and had pulled over, not far from Yankee Stadium. “I wish I could say this was the first time this has happened to me,” Kennedy said with a chuckle. “But at least we can continue the interview while I wait for Tripple A.”
Triple A? This reporter always thought someone like a Kennedy would have a chauffeur, or at the very least, his own personal contingent ready to come and rescue him if he were stuck in the South Bronx.
“Hey, buddy, so what happened?” I heard a tow truck driver say, approaching his car a short time later. Tpyical New Yorker, I thought, as someone who grew up there. It was clear the driver had no idea he was towing the car of the nephew of a former president. “Just hop in the truck, but hurry it up,” I could hear him say. Kennedy, ever the trooper, continued the interview while being driven off to who knows where.

The following link is an interesting article that RFK Jr. wrote for The Atlantic magazine back in 2003. It is about the Michael Skakel murder case and in it he makes a strong argument for his innocence.
I have never been a big Kennedy fan but after reading this article I came away with the belief that Skakel was wrongly convicted.
