Batter up!

With the cold weather we’ve been enduring it may seem like spring training and warm sunshine will never arrive. But the Fairfield Museum and History Center is already thinking about summer and baseball.

The museum is looking for any paraphernalia from local baseball teams in the Bridgeport-Fairfield area prior to 1950 – anything from uniforms and equipment to posters and pennants. The artifacts can be from early Little League, company or factory teams, ethnic heritage teams and semi-professional or professional teams.

The items would have to be on loan for seven months, and the museum wants to finalize its selection by mid-March.

Contact the museum’s curator, Adrienne Saint-Pierre at 203-259-1598, ext. 107 or asaintpierre@fairfieldhs.org.
