I was at Police Department Headquarters in Bridgeport on Saturday doing my regular weekend checks and I couldn’t resist taking a picture of this large banner hanging over the entrance. Mind you, it’s been up there for months now, but I thought it is especially ironic that’s it’s up since the city is threatening to lay off police officers if the police union doesn’t cough up several million dollars in concessions.
Hiring officers while threatening layoffs…as Lennie Grimaldi would say: Only in Bridgeport.
