BRIDGEPORT –A motorcyclist has died of his injuries following an accident earlier today on I-95 southbound near exit 27.
The name of the victim hasn’t been released.
Fire Captain Ed McCann said the motorcyclist died from multiple injuries after being thrown from his motorcycle.
He said the victim wasn’t wearing a helmet.
It’s not sure if anyone else was injured. At least one other vehicle, and possibly three others, were involved in the accident, just north of exit 27.
The victim was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, McCann said
Traffic has stopped southbound and is moving extremely slow northbound. Traffic exiting the interstate has caused a traffic jam on streets in the city’s downtown area.

Trefoil Road fire is out; no injuries reported

OXFORD — The fire at a single family home on Trefoil Road has been extinguished.
Firefighters from Oxford, Seymour and Southbury fought the fire, which was confined to the garage area.
The family was at home when the fire started, but got out unharmed. No injuries were reported.
The fire was called in around 10:12 a.m. and it took about 45 minutes to put it out, according to officials at the scene.
Tanker trucks filled with water were on the scene and needed to fight the blaze because there are no fire hydrants in the area.
