Milford teen hit by car on his way to school

A 16-year-old Milford boy was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital Wednesday morning after being struck by a car on Anderson Avenue while on his way to school.

Police Capt. Gerald Butler said the teen was walking to a bus stop when he was struck by a car headed southbound on Anderson Avenue. When police and and fire personnel arrived, the teenager was conscious and appeared OK, but was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Butler said the driver of the car that reportedly hit the boy stopped following the accident. The incident is still under investigation and it’s  unknown whether charges will be filed.
