|

MONROE – CL&P crews coordinating with Town of Monroe Public Works, are working to clear the roads of debris and restore power.  The Town of Monroe is still in a State of Emergency, and we ask for the patience of all citizens as the tasks are completed to restore our town.

Masuk High School will be open for public showers today, from noon to 8 p.m., and tomorrow from 8 a.n. to 8 p.m.  Wolfe Park showers are open today, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., and tomorrow 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

The Town will not be accepting storm debris –trees, leaves, etc, until next week at the earliest.

Non-potable water is available at the Monroe PD and at the Stevenson Volunteer Fire Department Station #2 1260 Monroe Turnpike.  A garden hose is outside each building.  The water is for washing or flushing toilets, and should not be used for drinking water.

The Senior Center is available as a shelter, if needed.  Usual business hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  It can be open overnight if needed.  Please contact Social Services at 203-452-3771.

Finally, Monroe Schools are closed tomorrow, Wednesday, August 31.
