CT United Ride honoring 9/11 takes off

More than 3,000 bikers assembled in Norwalk Sunday for the CT United Ride, the state’s largest annual 9/11 tribute. At 11:30 a.m., they departed on a route that weaved through nine Connecticut towns and ended at Seaside Park in Bridgeport.
At the start of the ride, bikers drove under a large American flag that was tied between two fire truck ladders from the New Canaan and Norwalk fire departments. The bikers drove through similar ladders in every town.
The ride is “very emotional,” rider Donna Racine, of Bridgeport, said. “It’s a big day for me.”
