Trumbull Democrat wants to go to DNC to vote for different candidate than Obama

A Trumbull Democrat has submitted his name to attend the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, in September. Connecticut will send 88 delegates and 5 alternates to the convention. Participation in the selection process is open to all voters.

If selected, Louis Bevilacqua said he plans to vote for West Virginia senator Jay Rockefeller.

“Look, there is no challenge to Obama for the nomination, but us old democrats have a tradition of symbolically rewarding years of steadfast loyalty.” said Louis Bevilacqua. “Jay Rockefeller…has always been there for us, and as a delegate for him, I plan to show for all perpetuity that we recognize his contribution.”
