    Duty Calls
    Author, Fred C. Billy songsbyfred@bellsouth.net

Dedicated to all of our American Heroes and Heroines
Thanks for answering when duty calls.

When duty calls, a man will answer.
When duty calls, a man will go.
When duty calls, a man will answer.
That’s the way his love he shows.
That’s the way his love he shows.

    Sometimes we call them heroes,
Other times we call them great.
But they’re just men who do not falter.
When duty calls they do not wait.
When duty calls they do not wait.

    Parents, children and loving mates,
Great sacrifices are called to make.
As loved ones go to embrace their fate.
When duty calls, we dare not wait.
When duty calls, we dare not wait.

Standing with the strong and fearless.
At home among the courageous and bold.
Above and beyond the call of duty.
Many of them may never grow old.
Many of them may never grow old.

Duty calls us to love and serve each other.
Duty calls us to watch and pray.
Duty’s the price, the price of freedom,
That all of us are called to pay.
That all of us are called to pay.
