City homeownership program holds Sunday open house

Mayor’s Homeownership Initiative Kicks Off
City seeks qualified buyers

WHAT:              The City of Bridgeport is seeking eligible homebuyers through its Mayor’s Homeownership Initiative for several properties located throughout the City.
An open house will be held at three of the properties –  59-61 Evers Court, 122-124 Orchard Street and 82-84 James Street – on Sunday, May 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. To be eligible, potential homebuyers should have completed a homebuyer education and counseling program through a HUD- approved counseling agency, must occupy the property as a principal residence and must have a household income between 70 and 80-percent of the Area Media Income for the City of Bridgeport. 

The homes range in price from $90,000 to $140,000, and have been recently renovated. For more information about Mayor’s Homeownership Initiative, or to apply to purchase one of these homes, please call 203.576.8144.

    This is the peak of cyniicism on the part of Mayor Finch. How many of these people were forced out because of the tax increases that FInch claims don’t exist?
