Finch, mayor of biggest city, doesn’t earn biggest salary

You may have read today that dozens of non-union city employees, including Bridgeport’s Democratic Mayor Bill Finch, received 2 percent pay hikes in July to coincide with a pay increase for unionized supervisors.

Currently Finch is paid $132,459 for running Connecticut’s largest city.

Here’s what his counterparts in the state’s 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th largest cities earn:

2. New Haven Mayor John DeStefano – $127,070

3. Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra – $146,779

4. Stamford Mayor Mike Pavia – $150,000

5. Waterbury Mayor Neil O’Leary – $119,306

According to The Hartford Courant, Segarra, when criticized for the salary hike he received earlier this year, promised to donate the extra cash to city organizations.

Finch certainly didn’t earn his salary. TIME TO RESIGN FINCHY.

Bridgeport isn’t the biggest city, It’s the biggest slum. All of the other counterparts listed are progressive cities.(maybe not Waterbury), but Bridgeport has more assets for growth potential in place than anywhere else, (adjacent airport, deep water harbor, train, a major interstate highway), yet it chases off business with the promise of high tax, little support, and poor conditions to raise a family, And it just stagnates.

Paying Finch anything is too much. He should be run out of town on a rail
