A group of 20 Stratford residents led by Town Councilman Matt Catalano will depart from the Shakespeare Theater Wednesday for the 2012 Stratford Sister Cities Reunion in Stratford, Prince Edward Island. The seven day event brings together delegates from six Stratford cities across the globe — Stratford, Conn.; Stratford, P.E.I.; Stratford, England; Stratford, New Zealand; Stratford, Australia and Stratford, Ontario. The event has happened every few years since 1985.
This year the Stratford delegates will present to the Mayor of Prince Edward Island a series of 1950 pen and ink etchings depicting scenes in Stratford, Conn. by Milford artist Robert Treat.
Catalano said he hopes Stratford, Conn. will host the next Sister Cities reunion in 2014.
