Seymour hosts its annual “Trunk or Treat” event Sunday

SEYMOUR  — The third annual “Seymour Trunk or Treat” will take place Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Seymour Middle School on Mountain Road. Set up time is from 4 to 5:45 p.m.

The event is a joint effort of the Seymour public schools, and the town’s police department, ambulance company and fire department.

There will be no cars allowed in once the event starts and cars won’t be let out until after the event, according to a press release.

The event is a free family and community event for children from pre-K to grade 6. To enter the event families must come in one family car and decorate the trunk.  They should also come in costume. If they choose, families can bring one carved pumpkin (without a candle – glow sticks will be provided). Those attending should also bring plenty of candy to hand out.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

There will be a childrens costume parade. Prizes will be handed out for the best decorated trunk, best costumes, and best Jack-O-Lanterns.
