Is your beach open?

With a heat wave bearing down on the state and the Fourth of July weekend still roaring on, it’s no surprise that state residents are heading to the beach in droves.

So many people are, in fact, hitting the beach that several state parks are at capacity and have shut down to new attendants. The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection reports that Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown, Squantz Pond State Park in New Fairfield, Millers Pond State Park in Durham and Kent Falls State Park are all full for now.
