40 failed attempts to remove ACA. Plenty of back and forth negotiations. You can only blame this on the Republicans and the Tea Party in the House.
Let the shutdown continue as long as it needs. Elections have consequences and if your party can’t pass a repeal, suck it up and try again in 2 years.
Obama saying he refuses to negotiate is not a great way to come to an agreement. Popular polls show people do not want Obamacare and most reasonable people want the Gov’t to stop borrowing from China to spend out of control. If your daughter racks up mountains of credit card debt, is the solution to give her a new different credit card? We have soo much Gov’t waste, we should shut the whole thing down. Then let’s start eliminating pensions and restructuring existing and get a 401k like the rest of us. As for retiree medical, Gov’t workers should not get that either. Why am I paying for benefits I can’t even get? Don’t give me the Gov’t salaries are lower when compared to private sector as we see time and time again that is NOT the case.
Extend and pretend, but hard times, they be acomin’.
“…’Bread and Circuses’ is the cancer of democracy, the fatal disease for which there is no cure. Democracy often works beautifully at first. But once a state extends the franchise to every warm body, be he producer or parasite, that day marks the beginning of the end of the state. For when the plebs discover that they can vote themselves bread and circuses without limit and that the productive members of the body politic cannot stop them, they will do so, until the state bleeds to death, or in its weakened condition the state succumbs to an invader ‘the barbarians enter Rome’.” – Robert A. Heinlein
