Noted feminist and lawyer to hold press conference on UConn rapes

Four women who were sexually assaulted while they were students at the University of Connecticut will hold a news conference this afternoon at 3:30 p.m., at the Marriott Hartford Hotel, 200 Columbia Blvd.

The women will be joined by civil rights activist and lawyer Gloria Allred, where they plan to criticize the University for failing to protect them and to afford them their rights as victims after they were raped or sexually assaulted.

Allred will explain why students felt that it was necessary to file a Title IX sex discrimination complaint today against the University.

Allred has represented many college rape survivors seeking justice from other colleges.
