Man loses wallet, damages 6 cars

|

BRIDGEPORT — A 35-year-old man was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief after allegedly broke the windshields and windows of six cars on the city’s  East Side near the intersection of Arctic and Park streets at about 1 a.m. Saturday.

Police said that Dennis Berrios, apparently intoxicated and upset after losing his wallet, used a baseball bat to smash the glass and rear-view mirrors of the vehicles according to several witnesses.

When police found him in his second-floor apartment, his hands were cut and bleeding and it appeared that he smashed up his dwelling as well. He tussled with cops and with the EMTs who were summoned to treat his injuries, and then was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for evaluation.

His obstreperous behavior continued at the hospital.

He was also charged with interfering with an officer, and after being transported to Police Headquarters his bond was set at $5,000.
