Dancing driver taken to hospital after crashes

A man was taken St. Vincent’s Hospital on Tuesday after he allegedly hit several parked cars and was acting bizarrely on Colorado Avenue in Bridgeport.

Police responded to a report of a multi-car crash in the area at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. They rolled up to find the man standing in the middle of the street with his pants down, surrounded by a crowd of people.

The man had reportedly hit three parked cars on the street and an officer said in a police report that his car was wedged under the porch of a nearby house.

A woman at the scene gave the man’s car keys to an officer. The man’s face was reportedly flushed and his eyes glassy and red. The man also reportedly said that he had “smoked dust.”

The man was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent’s and an officer said he was doing the Michael Jackson Thriller dance, “among other disco moves” on the way to the hospital.

Police declined to identify the man Wednesday because he had not yet been charged for the incident, which remains under investigation.
