Man threatened during Black Rock robbery

|

A man was reportedly robbed by another man who said he had a knife in Bridgeport’s Black Rock neighborhood Thursday night.

The robber made off with $250 from the holdup, which was reported shortly before 9 p.m. on Fairfield Avenue near Brewster Street. The victim went to a nearby bakery and asked them to help him call police. He said that the assailant had told him he was armed, but that he never did show the knife.

The robber was described as a thin man, about six feet tall with a thin mustache. He was reported to be wearing a gray sweatshirt with white letters on it. After the holdup, he reportedly fled south on Haddon Street. Police were still searching for the suspect late Thursday.
