Man robbed at gunpoint near train station

A man was reportedly robbed Thursday night in downtown Bridgeport by a group of three people.

According to police reports, the man was held up shortly before 10 p.m. near the train station on Water Street. The robbers were described as a trio of men in their late teens or early 20s. One wore a ski mask and allegedly showed a gun during the hold-up. The other two were described as wearing dark clothing.

The group reportedly took the man’s cell phone and $175 cash before fleeing south toward the Interstate 95 overpass.

    this is just the start, if the housing project is built on broad st. next to the ballpark this will be common place,

    That is right downtown. That is just plain scary. There are usually cops all over the place near the train station and downtown.
