Still openings at Milford’s Police Citizens Academy

The Milford Police Department has announced that the seventh session of the Citizens Police Academy will begin on January 8, 2014 and conclude with a graduation ceremony on April 2, 2014.

The Milford Police Citizens Academy is a 12 week program where the participants will attend a session of two and a half hours each week, learning about the Milford Police Department and the equipment used by the officers. Participants will be introduced to a variety of topic areas including CPR, firearm safety, computer crimes, police K9 teams and will have an opportunity to ride along with an on duty police officer.

The Citizens Academy is open to residents, property or business owners within the city of Milford and 21 years of age or older. There a still a few spaces available so the deadline for applications to be accepted has been extended to Friday, December 20, 2013.
