Former high school coach pleads guilty to sex assault

John Tejada, 36, of Cheshire, the former coach of the fencing team at Fairfield Warde and Fairfield Ludlowe high schools pleaded guilty Tuesday to sexual assault.

John Tejada , 36, of Mixville Road in Cheshire, who coached fencing at both Fairfield Ludlowe and the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club in Fairfield, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree sexual assault  before Superior Court Judge Robert Devlin.

Tejada is accused of sexually assaulting a female student at Fairfield Ludlowe High School in 2012.

He faces up to four years in prison when he is sentenced March 14. His lawyer, Robert Golger declined comment.
