TJ Maxx employee stabbed in store’s bathroom

|

Hamden police said this morning that a 20 year-old employee of the TJ Maxx store at 2335 Dixwell Avenue, suffered a non-life threatening stab wound to his leg after a fight with a friend in the store.

Carlos Burgos, an acquaintance of the victim, was arrested at the store a short time after the incident Monday afternoon, Capt. Ronald Smith said.

The two men had begun arguing in the restroom, their dispute turned physical and Burgos took out a knife and stabbed the victim, Smith said.

Burgos, 22, of 32 Lynmoor Place, Hamden, is being held on $40,000 bond and will be arraigned on charges of second-degree assault and breach of peace Jan. 8 in Meriden Superior Court.
