Bridgeport cops investigating 2 overnight shootings

|

Bridgeport police are investigating a pair of what appear to have been non-fatal overnight shootings.

All of the below information is preliminary, according to a department spokesman.

The first shooting occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday. Officers responded to 213 Pequonnock St. and found a man who had been shot in the leg.

The victim was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for treatment.

Police are looking for a black male suspect, around 25, six feet tall, wearing a long, black coat who fled towards the Charles F. Greene Homes Housing Authority complex.

The second shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at 1075 Kossuth St. Again, a male victim was shot in the leg and transported to Bridgeport Hospital.

The suspect may have driven south on Kossuth in a dark, four door sedan – possibly a Chevy Impala.
