Shelton teen still critical after shooting


A 15 year old Shelton High School student, remains in critical condition this morning with life threatening injuries.

Kristjan Ndoj suffered a gunshot wound to the head and to the leg, said Lt. Robert Kozlowsky, the Shelton police spokesman.

Ndoj was shot Saturday and found lying in a driveway on Agawam Trail. He is in Bridgeport Hospital.

The teen was found after a call to 911 was made at about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday. Police said Ndoj does not live at the residence where the incident took place.

Agawam Trail is a winding, one-lane road with four houses on it, near the Stratford border.

There are extra police at the high school this morning, as well as crisis counselors to help Ndoj’s friends and classmates, officials said.

Shelton High School Headmaster Beth Smith said that she convened a security meeting Sunday evening.

“There will be extra Shelton police officers at school tomorrow,” Smith said. “The school crisis team will be enacted first thing tomorrow morning.”

Support staff will also be available for the school community.

Shelton police, along with the state police Major Crimes Squad, spent Sunday investigating the shooting and the wooded area surrounding the home where they boy was found. The investigation is ongoing.
