MILFORD — A Stratford man was arrested Sunday afternoon after he allegedly took $100 from an acquaintance as they waited at a bus stop.

Francis Greene, 26, took the cash from the woman and struck her as they waited for a bus on Bridgeport Avenue, police said.

Greene then fled the scene on a bicycle and was arrested a short time later at his home on Barnum Avenue in Stratford with the assistance of Stratford police.

He was charged with third-degree robbery and assault, and sixth-degree larceny. Greene was held overnight on a $5,000 bond and is expected to be arraigned later today in Milford Superior Court.
