MONROE – A local piano teacher has been charged with inappropriately touching two young girls while giving them lessons in their homes.
Bruce Connery, 68, who also served as the emergency medical services director in Stratford for 20 years, was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and one count of fourth-degree sexual assault. He was released after posting $20,000 bond pending arraignment in Superior Court in Bridgeport on April 23.
Police said the initial complaint came from a parent of a 10-year-old girl. They said they later recived a second complaint from the parent of a 15-year-old girl.
“We had a 10-year-old that spoke with her parents and said she was being inappropriately touched by Mr. Connery, and then later on in the investigation, a 15-year-old, her family came forward with the same thing,” said Police Lt. Brian McCauley.
Police said Connery was visiting residences to conduct the music lessons.
