Cesar Sarrango, 37, had originally been arrested in Milford in connection with a sexual assault that occurred 14 years ago, but police said he skipped out on a 2002 court appearance in the case.
Jump ahead to Thursday morning, when Sarrango was arrested by Milford police in East Haven, and charged with failure to appear in court.
After Milford detectives received a tip that the suspect was living in a town barely 15 miles away, Detective Richard Haas served the warrant and took Sarrango into custody again.
The suspect was arraigned only a few hours later in Milford Superior Court. He remains in custody under a $20,000 bond.
