A third grade student was found with five needles at Hallen School in Bridgeport yesterday, according to a memo released by the principal Deborah Santacapita.
After the discovery an investigation was conducted by staff and school security. Other third grade students who came in contact with the needles were brought to the attention of medical personnel.
“We made sure everyone was safe and secure,” said Santacapita by telephone Thursday evening. She declined to comment further.
The Hallen School, located at 68 Omega Avenue, is an elementary school comprising of 330 students from pre-kindergarten to sixth grade.
The Bridgeport police and board of education are investigating, said William Kaempffer, a police spokesperson.
