BRIDGEPORT – Police executed a search and seizure warrant on Monday in connection with a missing persons case from September 2013.
“The new lead prompted detectives to secure a search warrant for a location at 1803 Noble Ave. The warrant was executed last night in the area of a multi-bay garage at the rear of the property.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner assisted police.
He said no body was recovered.
“This remains an active missing person case, and detectives are following up on all new information,” said Lt. Chris Lamaine. “The investigation is ongoing.”
The search began at 1803 Noble Avene around 6:30 PM Monday and last until around midnight.
City police and haz mat crews were at the scene for several hours gathering evidence.
Penney Goins, who identified herself as the sister of the woman who lives in the Noble Avenue home, said only “bikes and stuff” are in the garage.
Goins said she came to her sister’s house after hearing media reports that it is the focus of a police investigation.
But she last talked to her sister two days ago and hadn’t been able to reach her this morning.
“I don’t know what to think” about reports that the site is somehow connected to a 2013 missing persons case. “I’m shocked.”
No one appeared to be home early this morning. There is no yellow crime scene tape and no police presence at the scene.
The 1,590 square-foot, two-story house was built in 1977.
