Norwalk man found fatally shot.

Update as of 4:25 p.m.:

Norwalk Police have identified the man fatally shot early Thursday as 43-year-old Jimmy Martinez of Norwalk.

 

Officers from the Norwalk Police Department responding to the scene of a man down early Thursday morning discovered that he was fatally shot.

The male victim, whose name is being withheld at the time, was found shot on the pavement on Leonard Street in Norwalk at 2:16 a.m., according to a press release.

Officers attempted to provide medical help but the man was already deceased.

The victim has been identified as a 43-year-old male Hispanic. His name his being withheld until relatives, who are out of the country, can be notified.

Investigators responded to the scene and searched the area for leads. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 203-854-3111.
