Cable guy charged in Monroe sex assault

MONROE — A subcontractor sent by Charter Communications to fix a woman’s computer modem allegedly touched her inappropriately during the service call.

Inpanh Thammavongsa, 58, of Meriden was arrested after an investigation into incident last Saturday, and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct.

Thammavongsa, a Tri-Wire Services technician, began massaging the 18 year-old woman’s back and touching her body, said Lt. Brian McCauley, the police spokesman.

The woman left the room until the technician finished the work and then called police.

The suspect was released after posting a $5,000 bond and will be arraigned Tuesday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
