DERBY-Four of the five Parking Authority members resigned this week accusing the city’s administration of undermining their effectiveness.
The members, Joseph Moore; Delphine Krezel, Jack Moran and Anthony Szewczyk signed the two page letter that Moore hand-delivered to Mayor Anita Dugatto. Their resignations leave only Richard Bartholomew as an active member.
Dugatto said she will discuss the situation individually with members of the Board of Aldermen in the coming days.
But, she said “the garage is open for business” and “there are employees working there.”
The garage services about 300 cars a day, according to Leo Moscatto, Jr., the authority’s director.
It was closed for about two weeks in February and March so emergency repairs could be made on falling concrete.
The Authority had been attempting to come up with a repair plan ranging from $3 to $7 million that could be put on the ballot as a referendum for voters.
