Secret Service looking for man with Connecticut plates who may have threatened President

State and local police are searching for a man driving with Connecticut plates who may have threatened President Barack Obama.

Connecticut State Police Spokesperson Lt. Paul Vance says the department was notified of the threat and sent all information to troopers and municipal police departments but would not specify further.

A spokesperson from the Bridgeport Police Department said they were notified of the alert and are on the lookout for the vehicle but refereed further questions to the secret service.

Police in New York received complaints that a man, who may be armed with an assault rifle, was headed to Green Airport in Warwick, Rhode Island, in 2014 blue Volkswagen Jetta, according to NBC Connecticut. Obama is expected there later today as part of a fundraiser.

Police bulletins went out through New York and Connecticut searching for the car.  There are no reports that it has been found.
