The Harding boys basketball team was forced to forfeit two victories due to the use of an academically ineligible player, the Hartford Courant reported this morning.
The CIAC confirmed Harding had forfeited victories over New Canaan and Fairfield Warde. There were five games in which the offending athlete played. The other three were losses.
The CIAC’s board of control handed down the forfeits, plus a $500 fine for the school, in an announcement this morning. Harding self-reported the violation.
The Presidents’ record drops to 2-7 overall and 1-6 in the FCIAC.
New Canaan improves to 5-5. Fairfield Warde improves to 3-6.
