Fairfield Prep is new No. 1

|

By virtue of its win over previously unbeaten Hillhouse, Fairfield Prep moved atop the new state media boys basketball poll released Monday.

The Jesuits took in 15 of the 19 first-place votes.

St. Joseph earned a first-place nod, but it wasn’t enough for the Cadets to leapfrog Hillhouse into the No. 2 position.

Trinity Catholic remained at No. 5, unchanged from a week ago. Despite its first loss in FCIAC play, Westhill remained in the tenth place — one point ahead of Bunnell, which was 11th.
