Where to Watch Fireworks in Connecticut: Summer 2014 [UPDATED]

|

It’s official! Summer is here, and it’s time to celebrate our nation’s birthday. We’ve been commemorating the occasion with fireworks for more than 200 years — Congress authorized the first Fourth of July display, which took place in Philadelphia on July 4, 1777, a year after the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Here in Connecticut, since apparently we like to celebrate a lot, we have fireworks displays throughout the summer, all across the state. Be sure to check your town’s websites for updates, rain dates, directions, parking info and more — and check back here frequently, as I’ll be updating this list. Please note, some fireworks displays are part of events that begin earlier in the day.
