So now that Darien and Fairfield Prep have claimed state championships, it’s time to ask: Who’s No. 1?

The Blue Wave and Jesuits have been the best two teams in the state the last five years, and both squads added to their legacies Saturday. Darien won a state title for the fourth time in five years and Prep secured its third crown in five years.
Perhaps next year, these teams can finally meet on the field? Now, that would be a nice non-conference game for both teams wouldn’t it? Really, who wouldn’t want to see that happen?
