Westport’s win-or-go-home game with Sammamish, Wash., has been postponed until 3 p.m. Friday.
The game was scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday, but rain delayed the 4 p.m. matchup between Mexico and Panama that was being played on the same field. That game was still in progress as of 8 p.m.
According to our Doug Bonjour on Twitter, Westport manager Tim Rogers is not pleased with the decision.
“I’m just surprised they postponed it. They’re worried about the curfew, which is midnight, which I get. But it seems like we could’ve tried.”
